Pre-HPU Grad Fia Fia Luau

5/15/07

After the Mac-Nut farm tour we quickly headed back to Waikiki to change and drive to the Fia Fia Luau, hosted by Chief Sielu.

He told us about the luau while we were at the Mac-Nut tour and reserved us seats right in the front (even though the luau was sold out he holds a couple of seats for special guests...when he found out Colleen and I were graduating the next day from HPU with our Masters Degrees, he thought that constituted as special enough!!!)

He even came and sat at our table with us and chatted for quite awhile!

While there he crowned me Princess of the Luau (or something to that effect!)

His son and daughter are part of the Fia Fia Luau...his son is an excellent drummer and his daughter the cutest little dancer ever!!!

They took us on a tour of the Pacific...from The Land of the White Cloud's (New Zealand) and its Maori people (Chief in Warrior pose - right) to Samoa and Fiji to Tahiti (left) to Hawaii

They even got us involved in the festivities...teaching Colleen and I how to shake our booties Tahitian style and getting Mom and Mike up for an anniversary dance.

Finally, at the end of the night, the Chief gave Colleen his grass necklace and had her pull off the cloth that wrapped around his waist (souvenirs!) All in all a GREAT way to spend the night - with my soulmate Colleen and my Mom and Stepdad!
