Random Boating Days

This is a post for no other reason than to reminiss on past boating adventures and look forward to those that are to come. This post especially goes out to Tamika who braved her fear of the ocean and looked darn good in her bikini doing it=)

And while sometimes I bounced around on the water trampoline and had a laugh or two

Other times I chilled and took in the beautiful scenery!

Or, relax and let the men flock to the Polska Pimpstress!

So for all of you even remotely NOT thinking about coming to visit this year...ponder this while you sit in your mainland winters...Brrrrr!

The Muldoon Nuptials

Once upon a time there was a girl and boy who could not even tolerate one another, fell madly in love and got married....wait, what? Maybe the line between love and hate is finer than anyone originally thought!!!

Where do I even begin...my bestest and longest friend Katie (formerly Besson, now Muldoon) got married on the 12th of August at St. Mary's church in Hales Corners, WI to a strapping and, might I add, lucky fellow named Thomas Muldoon! The wedding couple, ceremony, celebration, and weather could not have been more perfect.

It was everything a wedding should be - and who knew it would have all started back in the halls of Whitnall High School when now husband Tom and wife Katie could not stand one another! That's OK...most of us have decided that Katie has disliked most of the people closest to her at one point or another. In fact, during the course of the 20+ years we have known one another, Katie and I have also had our "moments." Like when she tattled on me for hitting her in the head - accidentally I might add - with a piece of ice I tossed up in the air...that was my 1st and only pink slip (I cried!) or when she was class Pres and I was VP and we both knew everything there was to know!

The night before the wedding we went out to the rehearsal dinner on Water Street and then over to the new Brew City afterwards to continue socializing!

While there we engaged in a conversation about Tanzania and Marita's trip there in 2007. She invited us all on safari with her - and I just might have to take her up on that - and spoke of her favorite food the last time she visited, which was fried termites! ICK! On that note, Johnny convinced us that he took would partake in bug munching from time to time and to prove it he would bring said delicacies to the wedding the following day - well, he did and we devoured the flavored bugs together!

The next morning the ladies work up early to get their hair done and help Katie get ready for her big day. She looked absolutely radiant and stunning. Her dress was elegant and her smile enormous. The bridesmaids (Lindsey, Erin, and I) each wore the same style dress, but in different colors and their groomsmen (Jim, Jon, and Kevin) had the matching tie and flower.

The reception was held in Lake Park under a blue and white stripped tent put up by Johnny and other Milwaukee Firefighters - from what I understand it was quite the process with jackhammering and pole shimmy-ing! It was here that, in honor of Katie and Tom's wedding, I smoked a couple of puffs of my first (and potentially last) stoggie!)

Throughout the evening the DJ's provided many props to keep the night interesting from hats, to glasses, to blow-up electric guitars. Needless to say we danced the night away=)

All in all, the attendees were fabulously friendly and the festivities were phenomenal! I can only hope to have a wedding as fun-filled and loving! Congratulations Tom and Katie=)

I skipped info about my 26th Birthday - so here it is!

It was recently brought to my attention that before I posted an Aloha to Hawaii for the summer, I failed to mention my 26th birthday and the events surrounding it - oops! Well, it was one of the best birthdays I have had thus far (even if the number 26 does put me that much closer to the big 3-0! Its all a state of mind right?!?) So many of my wonderful friends called or sent emails wishing me a great day and it just reminded me how blessed I am to have so many AMAZING people in my life - THANK YOU!!! The weather was beautiful and the celebration of my birthday and the end of the school year went on for a couple of days - who can complain about that right?!?

The best Hawaiian roomie ever, Colleen, organized a meeting of a bunch of my friends at Buca's.

We ate and laughed way more than any table should=) Although no one needed to bring gifts, I did get a new pair of lifting gloves, a coach purse, and an Alzheimers Association card (thanks a lot Tamika!)

Once I blew out the candleabra and ate, well shared, a dessert bigger than my head we headed upstairs to Dave and Busters (like a Chuck E Cheese for adults) to place some games - ski-ball horse races, basketball, etc.

Together we collected enough tickets to get 2 big stuffed snakes.

A couple of days later we headed to the last "Europe Party" of the year, where Lish made a fabulous guest appearance, and danced the night away with old friends and new, those who we would see again in the fall and sadly those we may never see again.

Finally, Lish had one last BBQ at her house before the celebratory week was over and Colleen left the island for new adventures. We were fortunate enough to be joined by our part time fly-in roomie Jared, who liked licking ears and kept the koala ears craze alive=)

Aloha Hawaii and happy belated 26th birthday to me!!!
