Europe here I come!

Well, the semester is officially over and I am gearing up to leave today for a 3 week trek around Europe with my sister! We are starting in Poland (where she has been studying all semester) and then headed to Prague...not sure where we are spending Christmas yet, but I we'll be together so where ever we end up will be fabulous I am sure. The only thing set in stone is that we have to meet my Mom on the 27th of December in Amsterdam. We will then head up to Brussels and finally over to London where we will spend the New Year!!! I will be back in Wisco on the 6th of January and will probably stay until the 17th or so...Hopefully I will get to catch up with everyone in Mil-town then! I miss you all - This is me, signing off from Hawaii! Aloha and Happy Holidays=)

Christmas in Paradise

So, you've seen the pics of the 80's party and the Golf Pro, Tennis Ho party - well, here is the latest installment of the Euro parties...the Christmas in Paradise party. You were suppose to dress up on beach wear, but not very many people did. Most just had on festive colors and Santa hats. They did have a cash prize bikini contest (I was so upset when I realized I had forgotten my suit at home and couldn't enter Read: laden with sarcasm). This is a pic of my friend David and I posing as if we had been in the contest together. We totally would have taken it! LOL!!! Sadly, David is not coming back to HPU next semester...he is going home to Sweden!

The other pic is of me and my 2 French friends...Stefan and Jonathan. Sadly, Stefan will not be coming back to HPU next semester either=(

Adios Colleen

BOOOOOO! Super sad...one of the 3 Bares is leaving for the Holiday Break! The day after the marathon Colleen took of for San Diego and then Pittsburg. Tamika and I don't know what we are going to do without her. We are beside ourselves with grief for our (and the islands) current loss. Luckily she will be back January 22nd for another fun-filled semester - and BONUS - she will also now be my roomie! No more Napolean!

Honolulu Marathon

So, this picture isn't the best, but the good ones are on my aunt and Colleen's cameras so this one will have to do for now! Moral of the story: Colleen, my Aunt Therese, and I ran the Honolulu Marathon on Sunday December 11, 2005. Colleen and I stayed together the entire way and crossed both the start and finish line holding hands=) It was a great accomplishment. We both have our training to thank for our friendship...had we not made the time to train together we may never have become as good of friends as we are now!

The marathon was very catered to the Japanese running it...there were special aid stations and free goodies that you could only utilize or have if you were Japanese. This turned in to a not so PC joke between us girls.

This pic is actually the day after the race - we were a bit sore, but not too bad. We are wearing our medals, which were kind of cool cause instead of a ribbon we got them on a shell lai! The medal itself is nothing great though. We are holding Gatorade and Arnica Gel (a natural lotion that reduces muscle pain)

Hopefully I will have better pics soon=)

Triple Crown of Surfing 2005

So we all jumped in Dylan's car and headed to the North Shore for one of the biggest competitions in surfing - The Triple Crown! It was a perfect day prior to the marathon - we chilled on the beach and watch guys catch big waves (well, big to us, they were actually small in competition standards!) We saw some of the biggest and best names in surfing - 7 time world champ Kelly Slater, The Irons Brothers, and the list goes on...

Aloha Aunt Therese!!!

My Aunt Therese came to visit me for the Honolulu Marathon. She is a rock star runner and has qualified 2x for the Boston Marathon - so she kicked my booty across the finish line! We did tons of fun stuff and had a great time chilling on the beach, going to the North Shore, and teaching her to surf (although sadly there were no waves on the South Shore the day we tried! I was SO happy to have her here!!! Mahalo Aunt Therese for everything.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

Color Me Mine

My other friend Colleen took us (Cherrie - pronounced like the fruit, Sophia, and me) to a pottery shop where we got to pick out one piecie of pottery to personalize for our Christmas present from her! HOW SWEET! It was a ton of fun and all of our pieces turned out very cute. Great girl bonding time on a rare rainy Hawaiian day!

Golf Pros and Tennis Hos

Yup, you read it right...Golf Pros and Tennis Hos! Another addition of Euro parties put on by students at HPU and they are by far the best parties EVER!!! So fun, full of attractive Europeans, and everyone dances! I met a lot of great people at this party and danced the night away with my French, Norwegian, and Swedish friends...not to mention my homegirl Colleen!!! Everyone at the party was dressed up as a golf pro or a tennis ho...we went at tennis hos...I donned a white 'wife beater' with a white bra under it so you could see it, big hoop earings, SUPER short blue track-style shorts, and white high heels! It was HOT - haha - JK!

Out on the Town!

Out for a typical Thursday at Magoos with my girl Tamika and hot German guy - although, this picture does not do him justice!
